I'm nosy

If I visit a blog that intrigues me.... or there might be dolls, bears, or certain types of artsy stuff hiding somewhere...or if I just have a "feeling" that I might like to know more than is first portrayed... then I look around for links.

Some of you are probably like me.... but, lots aren't or don't have enough time to surf around.. .... so, maybe those who aren't have never seen La Clownesse on my Picturetrail site.

The reason I thought of her was Carolyn's mention of it being the 120th anniversary of the Moulin Rouge which immediately brought to mind Toulouse Lautrec ...who seemed to be a fixture around the theatre. My doll was meant to depict his paintings of one of the dancers ... a project for a local doll making club.

my early trials with Apoxy Sculpt for shoe making... I love that stuff....

I sculpted a face of polymer clay... early days with that stuff as well..it took fooooreevver to get it like this .. I didn't have a clue what I was doing... but, somehow it turned out sort of okay...

I glued on a skin of light stretchy t-shirt material... probably wouldn't try using that again. It is not easy to draw on. The very fine tips of the Pigma pens catches on each fibre... nowadays I like to use the firm spandex type fabrics... so much easier to work on.

an artist from the U.S. sent me this funny little ACEO of my doll.....

Clicking links can be dangerous. I now have so many blogs that I follow it takes me ages to get through all of them.

That is one of the livliest, most engaging dolls I have EVER seen. I use layers of gesso on my cloth-overs and sand the bejeebers out of it so that there is still some texture, but nothing to catch on my pens and brushes. Really, that is the coolest doll!
