yoyo'ing .....

See what I mean?

Two days ago we were the second coldest anywhere in the world .... so "they" say...whoever "they" might be ......

..... and, today....look how warm it is already this morning.... and still climbing....

already warmer than "they" said. Those "they" again ..... and they sure as heck don't always seem to know of what "they" speak.  Must be a Chinook wind blowing out there. ..... oh, look...at 37 kph.... yep.... it's blowing alright.... sun is shining now too..

Must go out and brush off the foot of snow still on the van... and the rest of the ice can melt.... we love our Chinooks... although, it is tough on the foliage.  Trees and shrubs can't always figure out what is happening....

I'll be sweeping gently and carefully ..seeing as I wrecked something in my ribs the other day.  After shovelling a ton of snow, I bent over to poke some leaves out of the downspout  ... perhaps at an odd angle...and something in my ribs went "proinnnggg"!  It was on fire and I coudn't even move for about 30 seconds.  Man...I feel like the walking wounded.  Anyway... it was just getting so I could breathe a bit easier and I was sitting on the couch, sort of massaging..no..I was more like caressing the area..and all of a sudden... "proinngg"! yet again.  What the heck is happening?  I couldn't sit, stand, or lie down it hurt so much... and I was gasping for air trying to stand up.  You would hardly think broken...and yet... one wonders....

No point in going to the doctor... they don't do anything for ribs anyway.  If there is a break...they just give you pain killers and send you home to wait it out for 6 weeks or so.  Oh, after taking plenty of xrays.  If it is torn tissue... same thing... wait.. til it feels okay and then do some light stretching and strengthening when you can.  PLus...they want to take more x-rays...and I don't want any more this year... I already had some a few times for my hand... for my teeth... which is another story and I had a tooth extracted yesterday after many visits and many second opinions...and many $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .... plus a scare about having any dental work done when a person is taking Actonel...  it's been an annoying several months really.  Totally off-putting in the motivation and creation department...but... now... I think I have it mostly under control.

The ribs feel pretty good today, but, I did get some good drugs for jaw pain in case...and they totally work on the ribs.  Hardly feel 'em at all this morning.  Wheeee......    I did the ice packing of my jaw...and so far..no swelling at all.  If the clot stays in the socket and healing begins... I will be fine.  If it pops out; a dry socket and infection occurs..well...I'll probably be taking them.  If you've ever had a dry socket you know what I'm talking about.  But., so far,  so good.  Having worked as a dental assistant for 18 years...I know the ropes and the possibilities... which isn't always a good thing...but, at least it helps in the "doing the right thing" department as far as healing goes.

And... my friend Maggi came to play on Monday...

Oh dear - you have had more than your share of ailments! I'm back at the dentist on Monday - I think I might have to have a tooth out .... so we will be able to suffer together. I'm looking forward to seeing how the bear progresses.
We've had snow - but not in the quantities that you get!!

Oh you poor thing. You seem to have had your share of things going wrong in the body department. I hope you do get that rib looked at and stay away from that bending and shovelling for a while.

Vee, you seem to be on the same path as I am right now....I feel like my aching body is falling apart on me. If it's not my back or neck, it's painful feet and, if it's not that, it's painful hands.

Mum has osteoporosis and was on Fosamax and had the same problem at the dentist where they refused to pull a tooth. Apparently there's a much higher risk of infection and further problems. Even when she stopped taking the Fosamax, they still refused to extract the tooth because they said Fosamax stays in the bones.

OUCH on the rib! Mum has also cracked or broken her ribs four or five times over the past ten years from bending over just like you did.

I'm already loving the bear...he's going to be so cute with that long fur.

Have a lovely weekend, Vee, whatever the weather dishes out to you,
Serena

I'm not going to brag about our weather - there's not point really.
Hope you're up to par soon.

Gosh you do sound like a wounded soldier. Really hope the rib cage settles down and the mouth heals well so you can enjoy being creative again.
Hugs,
A x

Hasn't the weather been crazy? We have too much of it for only being November. I am tired of it already. It is going to be an extra long winter I think.

I hope your ribs getting feeling better soon ~ not fun! It always seems to be one thing after another doesn't it?

Hope you are keeping warm this weekend1 (It's warming up a bit here too!)

Take care,
xo Catherine

Oh my gosh, you poor girl!!! Vee, what's happening to you! Thank goodness the pain killers for your tooth are working on your rib, but really...you have to watch that if it is a broken rib, it doesn't puncture your lung or something...Oh heavens, be careful!...I'm getting more and more jealous with every beautiful, snow filled photo I look at. I think I should move on up to Canada. I'd be in heaven with that much snow in November!...I know you probably aren't feeling the same way, especially now with your snow related injury, but goodness, it's so pretty!...You're right about our Thanksgiving being too close to Christmas. Plus my sister and I have birthdays and anniversaries in November and December, so it's always a very busy time. Everything gets squished in though!...Can't wait to see your new bear...that fur is so cute!...Now do take care, and be careful outside, AND feel better, Sweetie! xo Paulette

I hope your ribs get better soon! I broke a rib once and it was so much pain - I had pneumonia and the coughing caused the broken rib and then caused more pain every time I coughed after that. Anyway, sending you healing wishes!

I'm ready for Spring all ready!
