Practising ...

... with my new camera....

Finally I have a zoom lens to get me close to the birdie bath, and yet I am on the patio over 20 feet away... some of the little guys are more wary than others... but, I hope they get a lot more trusting over the summer....

So far only the robins and starlings have made it into the pics.  The sparrows are pretty quick... I'm not quick enough, yet....  I'd love to get a house finch...they are pretty with all the red on them, but so far not coming to the birdie bath when I'm out there  ...sigh....

This one sees me..... but, ...

... and, this one had a wild, drop flinging bath in spite of me...

...however, he/she did have a thing or two to say about me putting this shot on the blog.... bad hair and all....

I've linked this little guy up to a blog with some beautiful photos of birds.... I'm a total amateur by comparison...but, please do go and have a look at some amazing birds...

I'm sure there is a badge somewhere that I can embed....still searching for it.... found it!!  Just click on the wild birdie below to go to the site!

... and, I can definitely sneak up on flowers.... and, even dive right into the centres.....wow.! ... these little stamens look like they have clumps of sugar crystals on them....
Blue flax ...

Oh Vee you're really having a lot of fun with your camera. Lovely shots of the bathing going on. Isn't it beaut to be able to sneak up on them like that!!
If I may, have you heard of Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday? Your post would be a delightful inclusion. Here's the address: http://paying-ready-attention-gallery.blogspot.com.au/2014/06/wild-bird-wednesday-100-wbws.html
Just love those flower shots too - well done, gorgeous colours :D)

Hi Vee,

Great shots of the little birds taking a bath, aren't zoom and macro lens great.
I took a photo of a flower with the macro lens and when I looked at the photo and saw a spider that I had not noticed.
Enjoy the rest of the week
hugs
Carolyn

Lovely work with your new lens! The starlings and robins are pretty brave. Soon the house finches will get used to your presence. Enjoy your new toy!

Nice pictures! The last one might be a girl, you know how we don't like to take pictures when our hair is not perfect.

Wonderful shots of the bathing bird.

Fabulous photos - you are obviously a quick learner! You will have to put a large tree in a pot to hide behind while you are taking the birdie photos!!
