Some teensy, tiny ice crystals are floating in the air...and now..the sun is trying to poke through... it so looks like diamonds sparkling as they float. They don't seem to just be falling from anywhere... more like floating around in circles...
The moisture content is waaay up at 86% and temperatures are down..at -13C... so even more frost is forming on the dead twigs and old unfallen flower and seed heads... even on the gas lanterns ...
This time I upped my resolution for a few shots out in the garden... and I got some great crystals ...
Remember...this is not snow..there is no snow on any of the branches ... that's been gone for several days after the sunshine.... just the deep stuff on the ground is still here... this is all just heavy frost. Look at the delicate shapely crystals. Amazing.
okay.... click to biggify.... this one for sure ... look at the crystals !!! amazing....such detail and such shapes.... I'm so surprised to have been able to capture them... I have to keep going back myself..just to look at it. It is some dried out flower bunches on a spirea.
This leaf has what looks like a microscopic snowflake on the middle of the leaf.
PS:: a few minutes after writing this...I went upstairs, the sun is now brilliant..sky blue..and a slight breeze is wafting the frost off the trees like so many tiny feathers....
I began a second doll with the proper "stuff" .... and I'm having to stitch up a second body already... blew out a neck seam. I stuff too firmly for muslin I guess.... maybe I'll try stuffing a little leg instead....

Stunning ice chrystal pics! wow!
Really amazing photos!
Such lovely pictures, thank you.
Vee, you're on a roll with these outstanding photos. They're all just beautiful. You're almost making me miss real winters... almost...
Gorgeous BVee - amazing !! "and" of course it makes me swoon (big time) to see the cowboy swoonin' over my latest dinner preparations. When you love to cook - the very best thing is an appreciative audience (or partaker of) xo to Mr. BVee as well ! les Gang
These photos are stunning, Vee! The frost crystals resemble delicate ferns to me. I also love the snowflake shape on the leaf...fabulous shot!
Really, really, REALLY great frost shots BumbleVee!!!
I really like the first one from the garden that you showed - you can see every little 'spoke' on the flakes of frost.
Wonderfully done! I love playing with my settings like that! :o)
Love the crystals hanging from the branches, all looks so magical and thanks for sharing.
Hugs
Carolyn

These are amazing photos!! It was snowing here earlier, but fortunately it didn't lie, although more is forecast ....
Hi Vee! First, thank you so much for your sweet words. ;)...and now, your photos are so breathtaking! I'm a die hard snow lover, and I'm wishing I could transport myself into all of them. These look like they should be in a photography magazine, they're so good, and the ones in the post below also...fantastically beautiful. I can't believe that single perfect snowflake on that leaf! What an eye you have!...I hope I get some snow on Wednesday. Last week's gigantic storm missed us here on Long Island. :( Keep your fingers cross for me! Hugs, Paulette ;)
