Photo a week...

Here I am with a picture of a rabbit on Ground Hog Day. And the reason for the bunny is this.... on the first day of a new month.. before uttering another word... you are supposed to say "rabbits, rabbits, rabbits" ... for luck. I'm guessing it is Olde Englishe wives tale, because our Mom was the one who told us kids about it. ... along with other fun tales. As usual...I forgot til about noon yesterday...and today, I didn't realize it was Ground Hog Day either, til I went to Daisy's site ...hahahha....boy.... I better keep on track so I don't miss Valentine's Day. It ain't that far off!

Our photo a day challenge for the month of January has ended... but, we had so much fun seeing each others pics that we decided to continue a bit longer. We have changed things slightly, in that we will only be posting one per week for our group.. ... not to say I will be posting only once per week ..but, it will free up some time... and perhaps I will laze out on the posting front here and there.
I actually feel like I am more ready to get on with some crafting experiments than I was January first. This challenge was just that.... a reason to have to actually get out and get some pics....the perfect way to ease in to a new year.

My grandmother was Scottish and used to say, "White rabbits, white rabbits, white rabbits" when she woke on the first day of a new month. Also, on May 1st, she would go straight outside and lift the dew from the grass with her hands and wipe it on her face....supposedly another tradition for bringing good luck. Yep, I'd say it definitely originated from the British region. Your bunny wabbit is way cute!!!

Your bunny is darling. Happy Belated Groundhog day and good luck to you whether you remember to say "Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits" or not! LOL!

Cute bunny! Never heard of that tradition but maybe I better start! Didn't know it was groundhog day either. He didn't see his shadow here.

Aw, that's a sweet bunny. I hadn't heard of that tradition either, but my husband grew up with one similar. When you're driving down the road and see a rabbit, you're supposed to say politely, "Howdy, Mr. Rabbit!", and you'll have good luck all day.

What a beautiful bunny although I've never heard that you should say rabbits....etc.. hahah. I have way too many around here so I won't be saying that.

I've enjoyed your pics so hope you continue to make yourself get out and bring us more!

Cute bunny and maybe with the way the economy is going we should all remember to say the rabbit thing each new month, then we will all have good luck (:

"White rabbits" is supposed to be the first thing you should say, but so far, i've never managed to do it! - No idea why it should be lucky!
