photo a week...

Scruffy and Tuffy....

Sheaffer's birthday bash and fun (whoops... that should have read "fund") raising in Ontario was a blast! Check it out ... They all drank lemon squash and nibbled plenty of baked goodies without me... but, I did raise a glass of "white" yesterday in his honour and hoped little Tuffy would raise a few dollars for the Primrose Sanctuary. I'm really happy that he went home with a very nice lady. For next year, I'm wondering if I can perhaps make a believable mini needlefelted donkey... .. that could be fun. Everybody should have a cute little donkey...even if only a "pretend" one.

They made a fair bit of loot that will go towards a new roof on the implement shed as there was plenty of snow swirling around in there last winter..... Canadians can relate!

Good job Sheaffer..... I'm waiting to see some great pics...! I hope her frazzled self remembered to take her camera!

Serena wondered about the pepper plants and the type... etc... so, for my photo of the week group... here is what they look like.

They are red.... hahhahha.... honestly, that's all I know about them. And I hope I have some great tomatoes to go with.....

We just call them red peppers...and I've never heard them referred to as capsicum..so I think you are correct.... don't think Canucks call them that...must be a south-of-our-border thing. They are good and spicy...and they dry beautifully.

UPDATE ::: Arrrgghhhh!! I forgot to tell you it's also Bob T. Bear's Berfday ... today!! He is having a "Pantayshus" Party over at his blog too! wiv easy chocklit cayke and all. Pop over there to say Happy Day if you have a minute ......

I know those peppers ... I have a number of dried ones that mom gave me. I placed them in a martini glass (no martini included ;)), as a decorating piece, in my kitchen. Mom makes a paste of these peppers which she adds to various dishes ... really good! Enjoy!

Your peppers are beautiful, fresh and dried. I'm not a fan of hot stuff but I do love the colors!

a needlefelted donkey sounds like a great idea :D glad to read the fund-raising went well :D

I've used the word capsicum before, and have heard other people use the word growing up in Alberta and Ontario. but that could be because the people I hung around with cooked a lot of spicy food and I knew a lot of professional chefs.

Glad to hear the auction with Tuffy went well. I am really happy they made a lot of money, it is such a great cause. I think the needlefelted donkey idea would be great!

I think we just call those peppers chillies in Australia. Capsicums are bigger and fatter and not as spicey. I have some dried chillies in my kitchen aswell from a little tree on my balcony. I am collecting them to make a display cause I love that red colour.

Hi Vee,

Glad that Sheaffer's birthday bash went well and that little Tuffy raised some dollars and went home with a very nice lady.

I have visited the birthday bear, Bob T bear and just last week someone sent me the microwave chocolate cake made in a cup.

Hugs
Carolyn

Yes, those are definitely what we call chillies DownUnder.Chillies are tiny and HOT! I also have some chillies drying out in my kitchen...the hotter, the better for me.

Capsicum are big, fat and chunky and are what I've heard Americans refer to as 'peppers'. Capsicum are not hot at all and are a little on the sweet side.

Btw, your bears are too cute!

Look at those two cutie bears- Scruffy and Tuffy are so adorable. I have doubts at all that you can create a darling donkey.

Love those photos of the peppers- that vivid red color. We just call them Mexican peppers.
