ooooooh........ lovely 16 degrees... Celsius...
tomorrow...... + 19C....wheeeeee......
We don't really get much "spring". It jumps straight out of the snow banks directly into summer. It went from this...
to this...in just over a week. The ladybugs are still quietly sleeping under twigs, near rocks.. under old, dead, warm ground cover. It seems rude to roust them just yet.... so far it's a sort of gentle tidy .... leaving lots of coverlets of dry old leaves....... but, after hearing that Rachel was out having such fun planting spuds already...I had to get my hands a bit dirty. Did a few long stretches reaching for dried old lily and iris stalks.... the glutes and hamstrings felt it.... squatted around the edges for a bit....my knees know darn well I was squeezing them... high stepped over the still barren Daphne shrubs.. the quads and abs said thanks. There, don't have to do a workout today then and actually got a bit of spring cleaning done in the front garden.
...... it sure doesn't look like much right now, but, "just you wait, 'Enry 'Iggins, just you wait!"
I'll have blooms and I'll have flowers.... oh, I'll while away the hours...just you wait......

Well I see you've been busy...we sure aren't having typical weather yet for May, hardly any sunshine and when we do always heavy breezes, chill in the air.
We had the coldest April day in 56 years last week!
Thank you for the wonderful comment on my merino post. Yes, you have a great memory - I did write about a submarine in a landlocked NSW town called Holbrook. It was titled `H Is For Holbrook'!
gorgeous here today :)
i really like the last picture :D gorgeous bright colours!
and gardening is a great substitute for a work out :)
I love gardening when I can but the problem for me is that it always aggravates my back injury. Lovely pics ~ :)
Lovely photos Vee, your bear looks so cute amongst the pink flowers.
Hugs

How odd, I can't imagine not have a couple of months of gentle spring - but imagine that after snow it must be lovely to have a shot in the arm of good sunshine.
BTW, 2 of the bears you saw in my studio are American bears, Sharon Baron, and the other little one is English. I love them all. Oh, I've just spotted the bear in the flowers! :)
Our weather hre is much like Sandy discribed but atlast today looks promising so far! The little pink flowers are so pretty!
I had to convert to Farenheit, and I think that's about 66 degrees? That sounds nice! Where I live it's almost always real hot and humid. We've been in the 80s this week, so it's not too bad yet. I can't wait to see your pretty flowers!
That watering can looks so funny covered in snow! Glad to hear it is warming up for you! :)
Oh, too funny...there is an Eliza Doolittle ghost afoot in the bloggie world...Jinksy at Napple Notes referenced My Fair Lady in her post yesterday, and I mentioned Eliza on Saturday in my post!!!! You have a very interesting and artistic site, and are certainly very talented! Congrats on POTD!
Great photos! It's been pretty warm here in East Texas. Congratulations on the Post of the Day Award from Authorblog!
Over here another hot day today hitting 93 degrees. :)
Love the photos and that cute little bear sitting among the flowers. :)
It must be frustrating the way your weather goes back and forth cheating you out of spring. But I know that soon your yard will be lush with growth and beautiful!
Looks like you will have a pretty garden. We don't have much of a spring either. Hope your weather is great soon!
Yu had mor snow? WOW!
It haz been nice heer. Sunny but wiv a nice breeze. Mummy calls it 'jacket weather' an sez it's her fayvrit. Not hot an not cold.
Is that Bear doin sum fertilizin?
Hey girl - just coming over to visit and look what I find - a fellow bear lover.
You might have been on Big Blue Barn Knits - my other blog which I haven't touched in ages! gasp!
You can find me just a little south of Red Deer - in that town that starts with an I.
I did Festival of Crafts this past Christmas. Did you go? I had a booth there with my brother. I'm pretty sure I posted some pics of it now that I think of it. Also did the Butterdome a few days after that.
Our trip to New Orleans came right after the last show and was just what I needed.
Thanks for the visit! Hope you come back again.
I think I planted those pink flowers in my rock garden. Are they alpines? Aren't they gorgeous.
I did comment earlier but don't know what happened to the comment.
