faces....

Seems I have several things on the go ... better get busy and finish something.... ..

This head is one I made some time ago... a covered button attached to a small body and can either be a brooch or it can be framed. I love making the faces.

Watercolour pencil crayons....

Recently, I found some larger buttons as well and was going to make a little girl doll with one of them. However, once I got this far with the face...she no longer looks like a little girl to me.... I don't have much control over how each of them turns out. Even if I used a model... sometimes they just happen.

Tonight, I put more colour on her eyes, gave her some pupils and was trying on "hair" and/or hats... more pics later....

Incredible how you can transform a button..she is beautiful, love her little hat and gold button..is more special that every face is slightly different..makes them all unique :O)

very beautiful .... you should set up an Etsy shop Vee. Button face brooches sound lovely and I bet many would LOVE to own one !

I find these fascinating! Faces are so difficult to draw (I think so anyway!) and yours look so perfect- and in miniature too!

I shall have to nip back and see the other photo's- can't wait!

I love the way you don't know how they will turn out! A life of their own... :-)

But I can see how you would say that, too. I mean, I can see how it would 'happen.' If I'm making any sense...

Hi Vee,

Thanks so much for the oh so kind words on my blog. I'm having fun making those little cloth raggedy dumplings. BUT...these little beauties you have here are WOWZA!!! I have such a time with the shading part...I really need to spend more time with the sketchbook. :)

Hugs,
Shantell
