dates, teddies...and ... flower holders.....

Great pics from the Living Desert, dates right from a date farm, a little hand made piece of pottery from a street vendor ... and my sweetie home again....it's been a great few days.
Did you know that dates are very difficult to grow? No wonder they aren't cheap...they take years to come to fruition. Mr. BV had several date 'shakes while visiting down south and thought we should make a couple... .. .. I'm not using my dates in a shake !... forget it. I can always get some "store bought" to try that. I'm going to savour every bite of my Medjools..... the crown jewel of dates....

Here is my little flower holder... I don't know if you can see down inside but there is a small florist's "frog" to hold flower stems.. I'm going to be on the lookout for the perfect stems to put in there....

Here's a little sweetie too... finally finished him. I've had his body parts sitting around half done for months.....

and... found this guy while sorting through some boxes of things I moved out of the old laundry room cupboards...... he needs a nose. I used to "rescue" nearly new stuffed animals from the thrift stores to use in the shoeboxes...but, they now have rules about the toys being new. However, ... there are always local charities...

The little brown bear looks like he has a very friendly personality. I know that because he has his arms out waiting for a hug!

I have one of those flower holders! Mine is quite different from yours, but looks lovely with some tall stems in it.
Ummmm, the dates look yummy. And I love the little bear and...mouse? I must get myself a new bear, I gave the one I had to my grandson.

Oh, loved all the photos and your counter. I notice we still have tons of stuffed animals in our thrift stores. I know they passed a law about this...but I'm still seeing a lot. Love the teddy bear.

I have never eaten a date, maybe I should try one. I'll just pick one off that photo.

Your little bear is absolutely adorable! And I am sure the mouse will be just as darling when you add his nose.
