one of the statistics.....
The snow is beautiful... but driving on Sunday was hazardous. There were hundreds of accidents in the city, and sadly, Mr. BumbleVee was involved in one of them. As he was driving home from work, the car in front of him spun out of control. It turned a complete 360 and he T-boned it.... didn't have a chance to stop even if they were only crawling along. Everybody just kept sliding slowly forward til his stopped up against the curb. Luckily nobody was injured because everybody was going so slow. The most amazing thing was....the other driver was deaf.... but a lady who witnessed the whole thing parked her car and ran back to see if everybody was okay.....and she knew sign language. What on earth do you suppose would be the odds of that? She was also the only one with a cell phone. Thanks Moira.....
The other car was damaged enough it couldn't be driven away...and ours has a totally cracked and wrecked bumper and front quarter panel. Somebody was pretty ticked because now his perfect driving record has been blemished... I, on the other hand, was ecstatic...because nobody was injured or killed. To top it all off....today and yesterday he has been totally down and out with a horrible 'flu...not the beginnings of a great week.
The snow is still beautiful...but, the day has been steadily warming up..it's a balmy +6C tonight... it might be melting by morning... although later in the week we are gonna get it... yipes!... dropping to -18C.... oooooh.... get out the woollies, toques and fur lined bra.....
This was late Monday ... getting close to evening... pretty dim and I thought the colours were pretty...
By today, the sand and salt was kicking in and the roads were pretty good...some thick icy patches, but also some clear pavement beginning to show through. I went to mail some cards and drove to a nearby ritzy golf club... it's private, but the gates were open and I went in to take a few pics... nobody chased me out....
Wouldn't this be a pretty hole to play? Little bridge over a creek and in the summer there is a big fountain spraying water high into the air just in front and to the right of it...
here you can just barely see the little bridge in the distance...

what beautiful photos ... and so happy that Mr. B.Vee (WHHM - World's Handiest of Handy Men) was not harmed. It's the reason I hate driving so much - the roads are filled with idiots who speed around no matter what the road conditions are. Grumble.
Oh dear! Not a nice thing to happen to Mr. Vee. We are so glad that he didn't get hurt. The photos are so beautiful, I miss it.
Take care ... Maria
Good to hear that your DH is OK. The snowy pics are so pretty. We just get wind and rain here on the coast. Please send us a bucket of snow! :o)
So sorry to hear about Mr. Bumble Vee's accident! Glad to hear he is okay! The photos of the snow covered landscape are absolutely beautiful! :)
Vee I am so sorry, but SO very happy that DH was not hurt!!!
hi everybody ... thanks for stopping by and thanks also for your comments and concern for Greg.... yep.. he is indeed okay .... thank goodness for that...
snow hey? So beautiful and yet so hazardous for driving... ...
Thank goodness Mr. Vee and the others were not hurt! How scary that must have been. That is so odd that the woman knew sign language and had a cell phone, what a blessing it was to have her show up.
Our weather has been crazy this week. I had the heat on earlier in the week, and the air conditioning today. We are supposed to have severe storms move in from the Gulf tomorrow with lots of rain and high wind. Then it is turning chilly again-LOL!
snow beautiful but for me the best place is inside!!
BEAUTIFUL photo's, but oooo I bet it's cold!!!
I wonder if Mr Bumblebee's flu came on because of shock from the accident- I know a few people who have had accidents on the road and each has been unwell afterwards! I think it is a bit of the shick coming out- maybe shock lowers the immunity a tad for a few days- something like that?
Anyway! Great photo's! WOuld make lovely Xmas cards!!! OO that reminds me I'm sending mine to you today :) Bob and Dilly insisted on signing it too :)
Shick?
Shick?
I meant shock!!!
Good to hear that nobody got hurt! Your snow pictures are beautiful and definitely capture the moment. Hope you have a good weekend.
What beautiful photos - I can imagine we're getting a white christmas like that over here in the UK. TFS
