here's what I'm doing today...

baking some of these.  Double Chocolate Chunk cookies...with cherries.... mmm... and with the link....reprising an old post from 2009 on my other blog.. Tea and Scones .... and.... figuring out how to make some photos smaller so that I can continue loading them ..even though I am nearly at 98% as far as blogger is concerned ( and, thank you to Catherine for helping me figure that one out)! I guess other people probably figured all of this out long before I did.  I AM a bit slow.
And...perhaps my way is still a bit convoluted... I am now exporting them to my documents..in smaller size and then uploading them from there to blogger... but, it does make them much smaller files to upload so perhaps I will have to go back through many postings.......and reload the pics.... smaller.....oh, dear...... I see a lot of work ahead of me......sigh...... or...I could just pay a few bucks and add more space to my blog....
Anybody have a better solution?  If so, please let me know.....

Oh dear...there isn't really any way I can think of - no way of bulk editing your pics from within your blog. I have always resized and edited my pictures to make them a small file size, and done it with photoshop - you can use a similar free programme such as Picnic online. I'm really anal with my files etc, so I've got every single blog posts set of pictures in named folders within a folder, so if I had to do this, I'd *just* go back and edit each photo to make it smaller, delete the old big files from each blogpost and replace them with altered files. You really want nothing bigger than 250kb. OR you could just start a new blog...and link this one back to that. Good luck with it!

I agree with Gretel, why don't you start a new blog. I had no idea that blogger was doing this.maybe I'll make my pics smaller from now too.
Enjoy Christmas and new year. I'll be around but scarce to blogging.
Best wishes, Maa

I must tell you that your bears with the pale pastel colored lights are adorable.
I have no expert advice on your photos, and I bet some other bloggers will share ideas with you.

The biscuits/cookies look delicious!

Re. photos - I would definitely be buying more storage space rather than having to hassle over making images smaller. Annual storage prices are reasonable. I'm way below my Blogger limit because I load most of my photos to my blog via Flickr but, even on Flickr, I have a PRO account which I pay for and it covers multiples of album categories plus unlimited uploads. The free account allows 300Mb of images per calendar month and you're limited to how many categories you can have.

It's quite normal for sites to charge annual extra storage fees once a quota has been reached. Blogger uses Picasa to store all their images. Did you know you actually have a Picasa web album that you can access?? Also, it won't make any difference if you started a new blog because ALL your Blogger blogs are included in the Picasa general image quota.

I think if you go to this address - http://www.picasaweb.google.com - you should be able to sign in using your Blogger sign-in and that should let you see all your photos uploaded via Blogger. NOTE - If you delete any images from your Picasa albums, the image in your blog post will be deleted too because it is linked to your Picasa albums.

Good luck ~ xo

Vee, I notice you have the Free Flickr account so you may want to work out which way you're better off. If you upgrade your Flickr account to PRO, it will give you unlimited uploads of any size and you could just link the images from Flickr to your blog posts. This is how I mostly work. OR you may prefer to pay to upgrade your Picasa/Blogger storage instead.

Hi Vee,

The cookies look delicious and I love your sweet bears on your header with the Christmas lights.
Also enjoyed seeing all your decorations on the tree and your gorgeous white snow.
Don't know about the blogger storage thing, but others have given some good advice.

Warmest wishes for a merry Christmas and a year filled with happy days.
Hugs
Carolyn

I had been wondering about photo limits and blogger - some people seem to upload tons of photos but perhaps they've bought more space. One more thing for me to check out in another life where I have the time!! In the meantime I do hope you have a good Christmas break xx

So many decisions to make. Pass me one of those lovely sweets and we shall ponder on it. :)

We got your lovely card this morning! Thank you!!

Lovely looking cookies :)

Must confess, have done no home baking this year. Taking the easy route of bought things, but bought the really indulgent things. YUm, I have already eaten lots of it. Oops.

Merry Christmas VEE !!!
I resize my pictures when I upload them to my pictures on the puter.
That saves space on over all puter anyway.
The picture of the treats you have there are sure good enough to eat...LOL
Just wanted to stop by and say hello

You could set your camera setting to take smaller files, or maybe I'd be inclined to delete some earlier postings. May work?

I would buy the storage - you'll never run out of space. YOu get a lot for the money.

I use picasa and usually resize them down.

Those cookies look so good but I assume by now they are gone.

Those cookies look delicious, Veronica !
Grr, all kind of problems with Blogger, I resize and compress my pictures, you can also remove the oldest posts, perhaps that will help too, I'm not sure ...
Wish you a wonderful New Year, that all your dreams may come true !
