I've got a loverly bunch of coconuts...

... along with various and sundry other bits and pieces ....
The one with the blue wig is definitely a keeper.  It is from a class by Judy Skeel...and I am very happy with it.  I still do want to do something with that one.  It had some amazing techniques that I think I managed to accomplish very well.  Just didn't feel impelled to complete the rest of the doll as it is in her pattern and so I quit.  Seems to be my MO some days.  The others...?  well, if you are doll maker, you will see the problems... although, some of them can be overcome with proper hair or banding or hats or something I suppose.... Most of them were trying to get a grip on how to put a second skin over the original stitched heads in order to hide the centre seam.  And..they did work.. sort of..... but, man, it's tough to get rid of wrinkles ..... as we know!

The tiny head is a bead.... haven't a clue what to do with that...although I did see some bead head angels on a Flickr site the other day.... perhaps a possibility.....

Doll Street is having a Boneyard challenge.  I have plenty of discarded or unused body parts and yet.... looking at them does nothing to tweak my imagination.  Who needs a head...an arm...a leg? ...to complete their doll.  Let me know the general dimensions or a size you are interested in....I may be able to help.

One leg has the beginnings of a shoe on it....hahahha.... from when I was making my ...erm... which doll was that now? ...... I think it was this one.... maybe .....

or , perhaps this gal..... who knows now. Years go by.........

Stuff accumulates........ my poor, poor crafting room.....yes....a whole room ....with a huge table and a large enough desk.... and I still have no room to work...and wouldn't know where to find anything to begin with...............

ohhhhhh...... look, poor little Rumpel....still unfinished .... .... I am pretty annoyed with myself now....

Hey.... there's even a little mouse in there.  Obviously it's time to dig a hole.  No, not to throw myself into...but to make some room to play with some fun stuff in there.........

Take heart,it's not just you! I can't get into my craft room, except by stepping over spilling bags and crushed boxes full of stuff. Mostly, it's good stuff, you know? Silk and ribbons and doll shoe leather and wool hair and I can't get rid of it, but nowhere to put it. And the Bone yard? Lol!That's too funny! (I'm glad it's not just me with a gristly heap of DIP. (Dolls In Progress) Spare heads, limbs, in polymer and paper clay and cloth.)I'd be encourages by the quality of the bones in your yard, you have some lovely faces there. maybe angels all round might be the way to go?

PS. I think this is the first time I've seen a close up of your doll shoes. OMG! Gorgeous!

Keeping my craft room tidy is the hardest thing I find so you are not alone. As for the body parts you could easily make a doll out of those parts. You have a pair of fine hands and legs and a head. All you need is a body. So easy as everything is already done. Maybe if you start on it provided your arm allows you to you might get inspiration.

It would be fun to peek inside your craft room; has any visitor gotten lost in there? I like all those heads in the first photo and can't imagine how you make them.

It's tough to get out the wrinkles, just in real life;-)

You have quite an assortment, Vee! I admire your talent as a dollmaker especially how you sculpt the faces with the second skin. I imagine the wrinkles would be a pain to get out....same in real life. lol

I don't know how it happens but I downsize my studio supplies yet more seems to always take its place. I give up!

Hi Vee,

I loved having a wee peek into your craft room. All the dolls heads are amazing and love the legs in the blue shoes... you are so talented.
I do hope that you are feeling better and your elbow is giving you less pain. How are you?

Have a great weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

I feel slightly better about my messy studio now! If I were you, I'd just clear a big space and start making organised piles...doll stuff, bear stuff, fabric, books etc, and when you've cleared your room and have a few big piles, then start clearing and tidying. Ha! Easier said than done, I know!

I think that is a sign of pure creativeness no? Not being able to see one's craft table? Haha!
hope you are having a good Sunday!

Looks like something out of a horror movie.Haha! I could just imagine a tipsy guest taking a wrong turn and ending up in your craft room late at night, in the dark with torch in hand. Oh to be a fly on the wall!! Maa

Your work is amazingly wonderful--so clear and present are those eyes in each doll's face, so cleverly done, each limb.
You've knocked my socks off here!

I love the idea of someone getting in touch with you to say that they need a six inch leg!! (or a three inch arm). Every so often I have a blitz on my studio and put things in their proper places ..... it's just so much easier to get things done when you don't have to spend half the time looking for what you need!!

I wondered what happened to Rumple...poor guy. Your mess is almost as good as mine but I won't put up pictures....LOL

So this is where your magic comes from. You are truly talented. I love the legs and arms piled together I don't know why. I may be strange. B

what fun! love those shoes! the challenge in the challenge is to make something out of all those disparate parts - they shouldn't actually match nicely :)
