Nary a cloud and no relief in sight; the lawns are getting very crispy now. For the second day in a row, the mercury is climbing to +32C....which for you gals in the U.S. is 90F .....
see ??....we don't get to build these all year 'round.... although it sure would be nice today.... I'd be rolling in the snow too....
and yes we do have our AC blasting full tilt ....
The cactus flowers are doing very well.... ... actually it is portulaca (pretty much the same thing as far as I can see) .. these are the colours that I love best. Soft lemony custard yellow and candy floss pinks....
Love this geranium too. It is doing really well, even in the backyard pots...which get the blistering sun all afternoon...it is too hot today to stand out there for more than a few minutes...to take a pic.... felt like the sun was burning my skin right through my shirt ... brother....can hardly wait til Monday...more of the same it says...and I booked a golf lesson! Ohhhh...silly me. Maybe the practice range will have some shade... hahahh ... yeh.. as if....
...the leaves on the geranium are a very rubbery fleshy type so maybe they hold more moisture to aid the plant?... it is low and almost a ground cover type of thing it seems... never had one before...but if I find them again next summer, I'll buy several.
and look.... my first coneflower! It looks like there will be just one this year. Maybe next year it will have more.
Way too hot to do this.... or this......ick, just thinking about getting into riding gear makes me gag...
but, it sure would be fun to do this.....
Cancun, 2000........
Unfortunately, the nearest water to us would be the city reservoir .... and I don't think they want me paddling around in there.... sigh...... lucky those who live near a lake or an ocean..... reeeeeelly big sigh................................................ maybe I'll go out and run through the sprinkler like we used to do when we were kids. Haven't done that for at least a year or so..

So sorry you are so hot and rainless... While we have a super abundance of rain, and not so hot temps.
It's been a very wet and unseasonably on-the-cool-side summer. What happened to Global Warming... down here anyway?

Yeah, Miss M-N and I would love to share our rain with you. Another day of it today making just one good day in the past thirty plus days. There ought to be a balance somewhere!
Those cookies look wonderful to me. My grandmother used to bake some just like that, I think. They certainly look just like them.
Hope you get some relief soon! We had a similar summer here..although not quite so hot..has been nice to get lots of rain recently..
I think you should be enjoying your sprinkler for sure! Gx
Come over for a visit Veronica ~ we have had rain nearly every weekend
for the past six weeks.
Our water tanks are full and the garden is screaming out in need of attention.
Your cactus and geranimum flowers are so pretty.
I say ... yes go for a run through the sprinkler - wasn't it a fun thing to do as a kid.
Have a good weekend.
Hugs
Carolyn x
All of us rainy day girls are ready to send some your way!
Hope you get some rain soon!
Thanks for visiting my blog. As far as what I do with the wool, I knit, spin... sometimes weave. That is, I did, before we got a farm and I got too busy taking care of the animals! ;)
Your creations are wonderful!!!
Have a wonderful day!
Hope you get some cool rain soon, I think we've got your quota over here in the UK, we are having a really wet summer.
I grew my first coneflower (or echinacea as it is more often know around here)this past summer, and it had only one flower, then another smaller one bloomed later on.
Go running through the sprinkler for me! I haven't done that for many years. I cant imagine not living near an ocean. Being on a narrow island, its hard to be very distant from the sea.
Sure hope you get some cool rain soon Vee. It has been col here for weeks...feels more like Oct. Ill blow some cool air your way first thing tomorrow. Love your flowers...my fav colors too!

well, you could come down here. We've been in the 100's for the last week or so, but today it's high 80s and rain tomorrow.
wow that's HOT, we are having a really rainy summer in Belgium, I'll send you over some to cool off :) Beary Hugs, Catherine x
My eyes first went to the picture of the snow bear and I thought "Good God! Are they STILL getting snow?!" 90 degrees sounds more like it and then some!
That bitch Fay is on her way to visit us and the air here already feels saturated with moisture. We have storms that are preceding her on their way here that'll dump some rain on us within the next hour or so, but Fay herself won't arrive until later tomorrow. My yard is still soggy from the heavy rain we had Sat., so I wish I could send you Fay's rain, without the wind, of course.
Your flowers are lovely and seem to be thriving in spite of your lack of rain.
Guess what? Something lovely arrived in my mailbox today!! You are very sweet and the girls and I LOVE everything!..We're looking forward to making these cute little ornaments :D If you don't mind emailing your address we would love to send a thank you off Gxx
oh..silly me, I already have it! :p
You can have some of our rain, it has been raining in the UK non-stop for weeks on end now. Even today the sun is struggling to come out. Your flowers are a glorious riot of colour, so pretty. Wow, those biscuits look great, one, two or three would slip down very nicely with my cup of tea. x
What a lovely blog - your flowers are beautiful..and those cookies look very yummy
