Third time 'UN' lucky ...

Christmas Eve we did the kitchen sink....

On Boxing Day... the laundry room sink above ... which we actually had planned to finish off during the holidays so that was expected. It's great having a working sink in there after a year and a half without one. The washer and dryer were up and running in jig time..sort of.. but, then, we had some finishing stuff to do and also had begun the other three rooms downstairs...so it got put on the back burner. Now... with a week off and the other stuff completed.. we got around to the sink. We are still looking at and trying to decide about a mirror we picked up for above that sink.

But, then... yesterday... a neighbour showed up at the door to ask if my sweetie could go look at their sink and perhaps "help" him figure out the directions to fixing their faucet. Being an expert by this time... having plumbed in a total of 4 different sinks over our renovation years ... off he went ... almost grinning. He always just goes immediately when somebody asks for help... even though for some reason he describes himself as "selfish". He is the furthest from that.

Which is why I insisted on taking these.

Every time he ever says he is selfish...I will force him to look at them ...

Avert your eyes if you are squeamish.

Two hours later... razor sharp copper pipes... dingy, dark, tiny, undersink cupboard ....

He was a bit disillusioned, bruised, bloody, filthy, and just wanted a hot bath. My poor sugar .... definitely doesn't want any more "plumbs"... !

Plumbing should be a hard-hat activity....poor boy.

Nice shiny sink though!!

Happy New Year, V!

word verification is dustol. Just what I'm about to do, throughout this post-Christmas tip of a house.

Oh, he didn't deserve that! I hope your neighbours were suitably grateful; over here in the UK plumbers are one of the most expensive labourers to hire.

ouch! nice of him to do tho :) (how odd that the word verification is redness)

like PG said, plumbers here are horribly expensive. almost £300 to get a shower put in for a job we now know we could have done ourselves. so now we just do it ourselves. might take a little longer but it gets done and the council only wants us to ask for permission before hand.

Oh ouch!!!

Being nice is painful!

What a sweetheart for helping out though.
I can't believe the neighbors didn't get him a bandage!!

Aww.. poor Mr. Vee! What a sweetie he is to help out your neighbor. I wish you two were my neighbor.

Happy New Year to you both- hope it's a great one for you.

Even the most experienced and toughened generals can suffer war wounds - although I am sorry that
plumbing got its pipes into Mr. Vee! Hopefully the sinks will lie low for the near future and not talk the toilets into some kind of revolt!

A very Happy New Year to you and Mr. Vee (with no plumbing to do for awhile)

You are so lucky to have such a handy fella. I heard this a long time ago, advice to men" If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy" It looks like you have both. Happy New Year!

What a sweetie for helping out the neighbour....OUCH on the battle wound though. Sharp copper pipes will always win out over soft, human flesh. I hope that's the last of the plumbing jobs for Mr V.
